Privacy Policy

Vitalsnip is made by Plainwren. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Vitalsnip on iPhone.
The short version
We don’t collect any data. Vitalsnip has no account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking and no servers of ours. It reads Apple Health data on your iPhone and turns it into a file. That file goes only where you send it. The App Store privacy label for Vitalsnip is “Data Not Collected”.
Apple Health
Vitalsnip asks to read only the Health data types in the export you’re making, at the moment you make it, and you choose which ones to allow. It never writes to Health or changes your Health data. iOS asks every app that uses Health to include a write permission message, but Vitalsnip never uses it.
Health data is read on your device. Vitalsnip never puts it in iCloud and never sends it to us or to any other service. You can change or remove access at any time in Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > Vitalsnip.
Exports
When you export, Vitalsnip writes the file to the app’s temporary storage on your iPhone, protected by your passcode. It leaves the device only when you tap Share or Copy and choose where it goes, such as Files, Mail, or an AI app like ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. Once you share it, that app’s own privacy policy applies. Vitalsnip never sends your data to an AI service itself.
Presets, export history and the journal
Presets save the choices you make (data types, dates and format), not your Health data. With Premium, Vitalsnip also keeps a copy of your last 50 exports on your iPhone so you can share them again. Both stay in the app’s own storage on your device, protected by your passcode. They are never synced to iCloud or uploaded, and they’re left out of your iCloud and computer backups, so a restored or new iPhone starts without them. If you start the weekly Journal, Vitalsnip saves a summary of each finished week (steps, active energy, resting heart rate, HRV and weight) and any notes you write, in the same on-device storage with the same protections. Delete an export by swiping it in History, or tap Clear to remove them all. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored.
Purchases
Vitalsnip Premium is sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment, and we never see your payment details or your Apple Account. Vitalsnip checks what you’ve bought on the device using Apple’s StoreKit.
Crash reports
If you’ve turned on Share With App Developers in iOS Settings (Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share crash reports and basic usage statistics with us. Apple doesn’t identify you in them. We use them only to fix problems.
Children
Vitalsnip doesn’t collect information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we don’t collect or hold any of your data, there’s nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete. Your Health data stays in Apple Health, which you control.
Changes to this policy
If Vitalsnip changes how it handles information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before that version is released.
