How to export heart rate data from Apple Health
Last updated 29 October 2026
An Apple Watch measures your heart rate many times a day, and much more often during workouts. Health shows it as a chart, but you can’t copy the numbers out of the Health app.
Export heart rate
- Open Vitalsnip, tap Data and pick Heart Rate. Add Resting Heart Rate and Heart Rate Variability if you want them too (several types need Premium).
- Choose the dates.
- Choose the detail:
- Daily: the average, minimum and maximum for each day.
- Hourly: the same for each hour, good for seeing a workout or a bad night.
- Every Reading: each measurement in beats per minute, with its time and the device that took it.
- Choose a format and tap Show Data. The chart shows each day’s range.
Every Reading exports up to 20,000 readings per data type. For long ranges, use a daily or hourly summary instead.
Combining sources
When both your iPhone and Apple Watch, or a chest strap app, record heart rate, the daily and hourly summaries combine them the way the Health app does. Every Reading keeps each source’s readings separate, with the source in its own column.
