Privacy Policy

Motorjot is made by Plainwren. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Motorjot on iPhone.

The short version

We don’t collect any data. Motorjot has no account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking and no servers of ours. The App Store privacy label for Motorjot is “Data Not Collected”.

Your logbook

The vehicles, services, fuel and charging logs, costs, notes and reminders you enter are stored in the app’s own storage on your iPhone, protected by your passcode. Motorjot doesn’t send them anywhere. Deleting the app deletes them.

Documents and the camera

You can attach documents to a vehicle, such as insurance, registration or MOT certificates, by scanning them with the camera or choosing a photo or file. Motorjot asks for camera access only when you scan. It copies what you add into its own storage on your iPhone, protected by your passcode, and never uploads it. Deleting a document or the vehicle deletes the copy.

Reading receipts

When you add a receipt to a service, Motorjot reads its text with Apple’s on-device text recognition to suggest the date, total and mileage. The image and its text never leave your iPhone.

Exports

You can export a vehicle’s service history as a spreadsheet (CSV) file, and with Premium as a PDF. Motorjot writes the file to the app’s temporary storage on your iPhone. It leaves the device only when you tap Share and choose where it goes, such as Mail, Messages or Files.

Imports

When you import a CSV file, Motorjot reads the file you pick on your iPhone and saves the fill-ups in its own storage. It doesn’t keep the file or send it anywhere.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Motorjot schedules local reminders on your iPhone a week before and on the day a date reminder is due. They’re created on the device and never sent through a server. You can turn them off in Settings > Notifications > Motorjot.

Purchases

Motorjot Premium is sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment, and we never see your payment details or your Apple Account. Motorjot checks what you’ve bought on the device using Apple’s StoreKit.

Crash reports

If you’ve turned on Share With App Developers in iOS Settings (Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share crash reports and basic usage statistics with us. Apple doesn’t identify you in them. We use them only to fix problems.

Children

Motorjot doesn’t collect information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we don’t collect or hold any of your data, there’s nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete.

Changes to this policy

If Motorjot changes how it handles information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before that version is released.
